Yahoo have launched a blog hosting service in Japan. MSN Spaces was first released in Japan and Yahoo admits that they are late into the game.
There is no sign of any moblogging functionality in the service for now. The service has been described as a 'basic community service' so Yahoo aren’t out to make any history here. I did notice that they do appear to have little person style avatars just like MSN's very popular WeeMee service though.
I can't read Japanese so can't test what’s on offer too easily but there is an interview at CNET and a post at threadwatch.org. As the interview states, RSS is big at Yahoo with their news services and blogging really should be part of Yahoos offering. I doubt we will see any moblogging functionality for a while even if the service is rolled out to the US and Europe. It does have image hosting abilities though so its half way there.
