The BBC is reporting that google are playing with Video Blogging. "Larry Page told a conference in San Francisco that the company will be archiving peoples video clips, starting in the next few days". This is an unusual move by google to be so honest about 'vlogging' which is a natural progression from moblogging whereby video clips are uploaded for people to watch.
Moblogging is ideal for exisiting mobile infastructures as the pictures are easily uploaded to a service provider who embeds them into a blog outline. With video blogging, 3G services do provide the bandwidth to send the videos, but coverage is scattered and data is still costly.
Google admits that they are unsure where this exercise will go, what content they will recieve when they open their services up and the service that they will sculpt out of it but at least this is showing that they are still trying new things with the focus on user functionality.
